MADA Analytics is an energy storage software company that has developed the MADA Energy Processing Solutions (“MEPS”). MEPS is sophisticated simulation software that creates enormous economic value when used for renewable energy project finance and energy trading. Driven by proprietary artificial intelligence algorithms, MEPS optimizes the design and operational regimes for energy storage integrated into solar, wind, and hybrid solar-wind projects.
Founded in 2017, MADA Analytics, through its MEPS software, empowers renewable project developers, financiers, owners, and traders to capitalize on energy storage, by providing the necessary knowledge and analytics in a Cloud-based platform. MEPS software has been used with multiple customers in active project proposals to electrical utilities in both North America and Europe.
Danny Gimpel, CEO & Founder
Leading up to the founding of predictive data analytic company MADA Analytics, Daniel has over the past 3 years been deeply involved in the industry of energy storage technologies and applications. Having co-founded MADA Energie with partner Arnold Goldman, Daniel led commercial discussions with potential customers, investors, and project applications.
Prior to founding MADA, Daniel served as the Managing General Partner and Co-Founder of the Tamir Fishman Russian Venture Capital Fund. Daniel served on the investment committee as a managing partner of the fund, and lead over $100 million dollars in raising capital and investments for the fund and its portfolio companies.
Prior to Tamir Fishman, Daniel was the head of international sales for the Hi-Tech software company, E4X Inc. – now called Border Free (www.borderfree.com), which provides foreign exchange hedging and ecommerce services to international merchants. During his three-year tenure at E4X, Daniel was the leader for all sales and revenue to the company, and lead strategic business partnerships with financial institutions Goldman Sachs and Payment Tech. Daniel previously served as an associate at the founding of venture capital fund Delta Ventures, a $60 million early stage venture capital fund based in Israel.
Daniel holds an M.B.A. in finance from Johns Hopkins University, and completed his B.A. in Philosophy/Ethics (Magna Cum Laude) after attending New York University, and Emory University.
Head of MEPS Product Design & Co-Founder
Yossi was a co-founder of InSyst (intelligent systems) and was heading the advance process control (APC) and optimization Software development for the semiconductor industry. Yossi has 30 years of experience in statistical process control, optimization, statistical analysis and modelling and data mining. Yossi is a co-inventor of 10 patents in the field of automated data analysis and optimization systems. Yossi holds a Master degree in Applied Physics from the Hebrew University in Israel.
COO, Head of Financial Power Markets & Co-Founder
Eric has invested his entire 20-year career developing expertise as an investor, strategic consultant and financial advisor to companies in the utility, power and energy industries in the US and abroad. Currently, he is the co-head of utility and renewable research for a sell-side equity research firm. Previously he served as a senior research analyst and member of the portfolio management team for Longbow Capital Partners, a utility and energy infrastructure focused hedge fund managing more than $1B in assets at its peak. He was also an advisor to American Clean Energy, a solar energy developer, assisting in raising capital for the company, creating project finance models and developing PPAs. Earlier in his career Eric served as a research analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. and Lehman Brothers focusing on the energy sector. He holds a JD, cum laude, from Harvard Law School, an M.S. Engineering, Energy Technology and Policy from Stanford University and a B.S. Earth Systems: Environmental Technology, also from Stanford University.
Shimon Bernholtz, CTO & Co-Founder
Shimon is a Software Imagineer who enjoys making software magic happen. For the past 15 years Shimon has lead software teams in various hi-tech industries such as Fin-Tech (Superderivatives & Capitalise.ai), Cyber & Automotive-Tech (Cymotive) and code analysis in the Cloud (OverOps). His experience in software project management and all things cloud has enabled companies to achieve technological milestones as well as business growth. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Hebrew University.
Adam Hirsch, Ph.D.,
Head of R&D Proposals and Collaborations
Adam has fifteen years experience as a research scientist, most recently in commercial building energy efficiency and net zero energy buildings at the U.S. DOE’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL); before that, in atmospheric chemistry at the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. He holds an A.B. degree in Earth and Planetary Sciences from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in Earth System Science from the University of California at Irvine.
Leon Afremov, Head of MEPS “Power Process Engineering”
Leon Afremov has, for the past 30 years, held senior engineering and management positions with Luz (solar power plants), Ormat (geothermal power plants), and other engineering and start-up companies. In 2000 he founded Lademco Ltd., a consulting and project development company, serving major Israeli companies and enterprises in the power field, banks and other project financing institutions. Lademco also provides consultancy and engineering services to international clients/projects in the US, Western Africa, Northern Africa, CIS countries, etc. Mr. Afremov is a well-recognized expert in power generation in Israel and abroad. He holds a B.Sc in Energy/Mechanical Engineering from the Technion in Haifa, Israel (1979).
Simon Lassman, Head of Project Finance
Simon has a decade of experience in corporate finance infrastructure advisory (both debt and equity), including lead positions in complex project finance advisories globally by Standard Chartered Bank. His responsibilities included extensive financial modeling, negotiating concession, sub-concession, and license agreements with governments, optimizing capital structures, forming complex bank groups, and dealing with inter-creditor issues. Simon also has extensive experience working alongside international law firms incorporating innovative structures into project finance documents to integrate all aspects of financing.
